According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the first dual-core smartphone ever to hit the mobile phone market was the Korean-made LG Optimus 2X. LG’s 2X is powered by the 1 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor Tegra 2 chipset with the integrated ULP GeForce GPU (Graphics Processing Unit). This is more ideal for multi-tasking compared to other smartphones with single-core processors. The two cores allow users to run an assortment of applications without noticing a decrease in performance.
A 1 GHz clock speed on each core is good, but 1.2 GHz on each core is better. This is exactly what the Sensation has to offer. It is equipped with the 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM 8260 Snapdragon processor with an integrated Adreno 220 GPU. When it comes to tasks such as heavy multi-tasking and mobile gaming, the Korean-made smartphone has the hardware ideal for a multitude of tasks. However, the Sensation does it better.
Android OS Version
The LG Optimus 2X runs on the Android OS version 2.2 (Froyo). On the other hand, the HTC Sensation runs on the latest Android OS version 2.3 (Gingerbread). This will allow to you to enjoy everything from smoother multi-tasking to an assortment of new features. The flagship handset of the Taiwanese manufacturer allows you to enjoy everything Google’s Android has to offer.

The 2X entered the Guinness Book of World Records as the first ever dual-core smartphone to be released in the mobile phone market. The Taiwanese-based smartphone manufacturer is renowned for creating award-winning and innovative handsets. With the recent entry of the Sensation in the mobile phone market, they have set the bar yet again.
The LG Optimus 2X and the HTC Sensation are two of the few smartphones powered by a dual-core processor. They come with hardware we never thought possible in mobile devices. Furthermore, they come with the latest Android software Google has to offer. Currently, they are at the head of the pack.
